Practice your ninja / sniper skills by trying to capture your child in a quiet alone moment. Maybe reading a book or just a resting before their 3rd wind kicks in. Not letting them know you are there helps make the candid photo that much better. Move slowly and have your camera ready to shoot. There is a great moment in the movie "Hope Floats" where Sandra Bullocks character does this perfectly.
